A completely redesigned legendary SUV Cadillac Escalade will soon be presented in Los Vegas during Oscar week, namely on February 4, 2020. This will be the 5th generation of the legendary SUV. The company opened the first teaser photos on its Instagram account. The main photo shows producer, screenwriter and filmmaker Spike Lee, and slightly to the right of him is the front of the new generation Cadillac Escalade. If we consider it in more detail and compare it with the current generation being sold, then the car has changed significantly.
Judging from the photo, the fifth Cadillac Escalade got a massive grille, narrow headlights and vertical LED running lights. This view is quite different from the main competitors of the Chevrolet Tahoe and the new Suburban, which were not so long ago presented in the new generation. In addition to a photo of the front, the manufacturer also presented a photo of the front panel of the 2020 Cadillac Escalade. Most of it was taken under the curved display of the multimedia system. According to preliminary data, this is a 38 ”display based on OLED technology. It includes the dashboard, control of car systems and, of course, the display of the multimedia system.
As for the technical specifications of the 2020 Cadillac Escalade, the previous 4.2-liter Blackwing V8 will be replaced by a new 6.2-liter supercharged V8. Following the engine, the SUV's suspension was also redesigned. Now the rear is independent suspension. For driving comfort, the gearshift paddles were placed, and the Super Cruise system with semi-automatic control appeared in the comfort list.
According to company representatives, the new Cadillac Escalade will go on sale towards the end of 2020. An all-electric version is expected in 2023. The electric Cadillac Escalade will be assembled in Detroit, where the all-electric GMC Sierra is now being assembled. Closer to the presentation of the Cadillac Escalade, the manufacturer will reveal more information, equipment, and also announce the price of the basic equipment.
